Sparkly, beautiful bargains

Tuesday, 21 December 2010
Hello lovelies, hope everyone is okay and all set for Christmas! Yesterday I spent the day shopping with my friends for some last minute gifts. Inevitably this resulted in me treating myself! I only bought a couple of things but I had a great time nonetheless. I also managed to grab some fabulously sparkly bargains in the form of these little beauties...

I saw them in one of the brand boutiques/concessions sections of House of Fraser; I've never heard of the brand 'Touch' before, but I fell in love with these beautiful sparkling creatures and was desperate to get my hands on them. I absolutely adore anything sparkly, but my heart leaps a little when I see anything sparkly that resembles an animal/creature of some sort. I don't know what it is, but animal/insect jewellery really appeals to me, I think it's so pretty!

Ladybug ring: £2.25 (originally £4.50)

Cute Bird Ring: £3.25 (originally £6.50)

Insect Bracelet: £2.20 (originally £5)

Elephant Ring: £4 (originally £8)

Then when I saw the prices, I fell in love even more. The prices were fantastic anyway, with necklaces for £6, earrings for £5 etc., but when I saw they were all half price (some even less than half price!) I thought Christmas had come early!

I think the cute little birdies ring is absolutely adorable as well as being quite unusual - I've never seen a ring like it before anyway! I ummed and ahhed over the insect bracelet and a necklace very similar, but decided the necklace was perhaps a tad 'too much' and went for the bracelet instead. I began frantically searching for my size as soon as I saw the elephant ring - it is absolutely stunning and I couldn't believe I'd found such a beauty! I left the shop extremely happy and with only £11.70 less on me.

What do you all think to my purchases? Do you like glitzy/animal jewellery or do you prefer something a little different?

A little outfit of the night post :)

Monday, 20 December 2010
Sorry I haven't post much lately (again) I have finnnnally finished uni for Christmas and so hope to update a lot more! I thought I'd do a little outfit post, sorry the pictures aren't that great but I rushed out in a hurry, and therefore didn't have time for tripods etc!

I went out with some friends on Saturday night for the first time in ages. They were all back from uni and it was great to have a catch up and dance the night away, whilst revelling in the excitement of Christmas! Here's what I wore (I realise I have a really bad fake-tanned hand, it didn't look that bad in real life, honest!):

Dress: Oasis
Clutch: New Look
Black Wedge Shoes: New Look
Tights (x3 - it was COLD) - Primark

I'm absolutely in love with the Oasis dress. It's such a beautiful colour, and I adore the floaty arms it has. Unfortunately as it was -8 degrees I had to put a rather thick coat on to go out as I'm not one for braving the cold at the best of times. I also LOVE my New Look wedges; surprisingly easy to walk in, even in the ice and snow!
I wore my Salon Confidential extensions again, I find it so much easier using them than having to style my hair - it takes me about an hour to curl my hair so whacking these in saves a lot of time!

In other news, can you BELIEVE how close to Christmas it is? It feels a bit strange, like it's crept up so quickly and I'm not sure if I'm ready for it! Me and my mum went to our town's Christmas market yesterday and had a nice time perusing the various stalls, getting in the spirit of things! Is everyone ready for Christmas? I only just finished wrapping everything up yesterday, such a relief to have it done! Hope everyone had a lovely weekend :)

FOTD and Christmas is coming!

Revlon Colorstay Foundation
Benefit Boi-ing Concealer
Primark 'The Happy Couple' Blush/Bronzer Duo
MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural
Urban Decay Eyeshadow in 'Midnight Cowboy Rides Again' all over lid
Urban Decay Eyeshadow in 'Last Call' in outer corner
Illamasqua Precision Ink Eyeliner in Abyss
Benefit Bad Gal Eyeliner on outer corner of lower lashes
Rimmel Lash Accellorator Mascara
17 Eyebrow Pencil
MAC 'Innocence, Beware!' lipstick

Thought I'd do a little 'face of the day' (sorry my hair is a bit of a mess - I'm trying to straighten it as little as possible!) as I'm really pleased with my glowy yet natural make up today. I think I definitely have MAC's 'Innocence, Beware!' lipstick to thank for this, I've definitely got a new-found love for it. Also completely loving my Primark 'The Happy Couple' Blush/Bronzer, it really is fab at giving a beautiful glowing cheek, and so cheap too! I was going to take the pictures this morning on my camera, but did an outfit of the day instead (which I've since scrapped!) so I'm afraid they're just webcam pics taken post afternoon nap (I fell asleep whilst reading, can't have been that interesting!)

You might have noticed I've been a lot more frequent with my posts at the minute; I'm trying to keep this up but it's mainly due to the fact I've been snowed in for the past week, and therefore have been going a little bit crazy with boredom! I have a lot of uni work to do (2 essays due in 2 weeks) but I'm not in the right frame of mind at the minute to be writing them, the snow has got me too excited about Christmas!

I had a really good weekend, went shopping yesterday with my boyfriend for Christmas pressies and treats for myself, and amazingly got a lot of the things I've been wanting for ages. I was distraught the other day when I realised the River Island Moccasins I'd been eyeing online for weeks had sold out in my size, but was SO pleased to see them sitting waiting for me in my local RI yesterday! I also spent last night putting up Christmas decorations and if I do say so myself my room looks fab...

HOW cute is this penguin I got?

I've got lots of pretty decorations hanging up too, but couldn't take a decent photo! Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend and is keeping safe in the snow (that doesn't seem to want to leave!). Have you all got your Christmas decorations up yet?

About a week ago I bought a tripod in the hope of doing a lot more outfit posts for you. I know my blog focuses predominantly around make up and beauty, and it will continue to do so, but fashion was the thing I first became interested in long before make up. I always spend the majority of my money on clothes, and I had always prided myself on my fashion sense. Recently though, I've felt a little bit like I've been stuck in a rut when it comes to fashion; I've found it really hard putting clothes together for some really bizarre reason (considering I have a LOT of clothes in my wardrobe!) So I thought, in order to make sure I start making more of an effort, or at least thinking more about what I wear, I'd start doing a lot more regular outfit posts. I absolutely LOVE reading outfit posts on other peoples' blogs, taking inspiration from them or simply admiring how fabulous you girls look in your beautifully put-together clothes, so I thought, why not give it a go? I've tried countless times to do more outfit posts, but due to the lack of a tripod it's been a tad difficult! So when it arrived this morning I had to have a play around and so here is what I'm wearing today!

Do you like the light switch? I think it's a feature haha

Top: Topshop
Cardigan: New Look
Shorts: Primark
Tights: Primark
Brogues: Primark
Necklace: Accessorize
Frog ring: Topshop

Now, I'm usually a complete and utter girly girl. The majority of my wardrobe is made up of pinks and pastel colours, but recently I've fallen in love with the gorgeous warm autumnal greens and reds. I think they look absolutely gorgeous together, and make me think of winter when I look at them. I'm still wearing girly clothes a lot of the time though, I think it's good not to stick to one set 'style' as such, I like to experiment a bit. The top is something a little different to my usual style too, but I love how baggy it is as I feel so comfy in it! I'm loving tights and shorts at the minute too, thick wooly tights of course!

What do you think? Do you like outfit posts or should I stick to purely make up and beauty?

Scrabble Jewellery Love

I about a week or so ago I purchased a fabulous scrabble ring off Victoria from VIPXO, a fellow blogger who has started making and selling these beauties for a mere £4! I'd seen these for sale before on websites such as Rock n Rose, but for a lot more money, so as soon as I saw these I had to have one. I think they're adorable and seem to be very en vogue at the minute... I love anything a bit quirky so this ring was right up my street!

I've literally been wearing mine almost every day since I got it, I love it that much. I think the fact it's just a 'H' as well makes it more special to me as that was my nickname when I was younger haha (before H from Steps came about, thank you very much!). If you would like to purchase just one go to Victoria's blog for her contact details :) - she makes bracelets too!

What do you think to scrabble rings/jewellery? Will you be purchasing one of these little creations?
