Dress - New Look Concessions
Tights - Primark
Shoe Boots - New Look
Earrings & Rings - Topshop

On Friday night it was my sister's birthday so to celebrate we all went out for a lovely meal. I had a great night, although I had a little too much to drink (I never drink!) and so felt a tad worse for wear yesterday morning. I thought I would show you what I wore - I hadn't got a clue what to wear but found this dress at the back of my wardrobe and decided on it. I've had it for ages and probably only worn it about 3 times - it's probably not to everyone's taste, but I adore the butterfly print and the touch of sequins to add a little sparkle. It's really comfy too, which is always a plus!

I had a lovely weekend, despite having to work yesterday I had a really nice evening watching 'Beauty and the Beast' with my boyfriend - the things he puts up with! And today was spent having a lovely lazy Sunday, eating lots and relaxing. I'm going to spend tonight watching 'PS I Love You' - absolutely adore that film even if it does make me cry!

I know I said I'd be doing lots more make up reviews, and I will be, it's just I'm finding it really hard to photograph make up at the minute - think I'm in need of a new camera. I have my eye on a couple, it's just I'm such a wimp when it comes to spending lots of money - I have to be absolutely certain I want something and THEN I buy it. I do have some make up posts lined up though so I will *fingers crossed* get those done this week.

Also - what do you all think to the new layout? I'd been desperately wanting a change for ages and the lovely Lauren offered to help me out. I absolutely love it, after having this blog for almost a year I think it was about time I had a change! Hope everyone is having a fab weekend :) xx

Dress - River Island
Cardigan - New Look
Belt -Primark
Brogues - Primark

I know, ANOTHER outfit post. I promise you I will do more make up posts soon. I was actually going to do a FOTD today but the pictures didn't come out properly, maybe tomorrow? Anyway, I feel like I've been wearing this dress constantly recently. It's just so easy to style and I feel so comfortable in it. I got it last summer from River Island and absolutely love it. The cardigan is something I saw ages ago (before Christmas I think?) and debated buying, but decided against it as it was £26.99 which I think is a bit steep for a cardi from New Look. Anyway, since then an influx of bloggers have been wearing it AND I've decided it would fit in perfectly with my wardrobe. Add to that the fact I had stuff to take back to New Look and it was 20% off student discount, so I bought it.

Not sure if you can tell but my hair is in desperate need of a dye... I'm going to the hairdressers tomorrow and can't wait. I invested in my first ever Denman brush the other day, and my god it makes your hair big with a bit of back-combing! I definitely recommend getting one if you struggle to back comb with just a comb. I tanned last night and feel so much better for it, it's amazing what a bit of fake tan can do for your confidence!

Lastly, I'm going to beg (again) for you to PLEASE vote for me in the ELLE internship competition if you haven't already. Thanks so much to everyone who's voted so far, it means so much to me. I'm not entirely sure if the winner is based purely on votes or if ELLE judges your entry too, I'm hoping for the latter. If you would like to vote for me please click HERE

Hope you're all having a fab friday, can't wait for the weekend!

A big favour...

Hi girls, now I wouldn't usually ask, but this is such a HUGE opportunity for me and I really need your help! ELLE magazine is running a competition to win a 6 month internship with Elle Online, and it has always been a huge ambition of mine to write for such an amazing magazine. I have wanted to be in fashion journalism for years, and everything I'm doing now (English degree and work experience at local papers, writing this blog etc.) is all going towards that goal. If you could please take a few minutes out to vote for me I would be SO grateful. You guys have been so brilliant supporting my blog so far, it would mean the world to me if you could help me out!

Thank you all SO much

Sale Picks

Wednesday, 19 January 2011
I know this is a pretty late post - I was meant to do it aggggess ago but kept putting it off for some reason. Anyway, seen as the January sales are still going on (most with 75% off!) I thought I'd show you some of my best buys this Jan.
First up, I went a bit mad in the River Island sale and got some fab buys. I went online as soon as the sale came on (at like 8 in the morning) and had the pick of everything.... I went on later in the day and all the good stuff was gone! I got this gorgeous tartan satchel for £15 reduced from about £35, and the cardigan I've wanted for AGES for £15 as well, reduced from £39.99 (although I'm not sure if it's gone back up to full price now?!)

I have a silly amount of jewellery already but I couldn't resist getting these beauties. I think I'm just going to have to admit defeat and realise I just can't stop buying jewellery! The peacock necklace was £10 reduced from a whopping £49.99 (madness) and the pearl necklace was £8 reduced from £29.99. I got a peacock ring for £4 (£12.99 originally) and a butterfly ring for £4 (originally £14.99)

Now, I'm not really a big fan of Next. I don't dislike it, I just never really find much in there. I did however spot some beautiful shoes a few weeks before Christmas for £40 and seriously debated getting them. I decided against it though and thank goodness I did, as I found this pair sitting happily on the shelf a few days after the half-price sale IN MY SIZE. I think it was fate and had to get them. They're a beautiful velvet material and covered in gorgeous gems. I. Love. Them.

I actually found these a couple of days ago in the Accessorize sale with 70% off. I definitely recommend you keep popping in to Accessorize even when it looks like all the good stuff is gone, because these hadn't been in the sale before a couple of days ago and already are reduced such a lot. I think all together these two cost me less than a fiver, when usually they'd be £15 all together!

Finally, meet Pooh. I bought this little cutie on Christmas day would you believe it, in the ASOS sale. I'd wanted him for weeks before when he was £52 and I'd waited in the hope I'd get him on the big day. I didn't however, so when I saw him reduced to £33.50 I jumped at the chance. The only annoying thing is I had to wait several weeks after Christmas for him to come, as ASOS's saver delivery is ridiculously slow. It's free however, so can't really complain. I love everything about this necklace - his little arms and legs even move! Disney Couture is by far my favourite jewellery brand, the amount of detail they put in is ridiculous. I'm sure you've heard of the brand before, but if not, definitely check them out.

I think by far the best sale this year has got to be River Island. Buying it online was SO much easier than in the store, I absolutely hate River Island at sale time in the shop as everything is usually all over the place, and I hate scrambling around to get a look at the clothes. Topshop let me down big time; everything sold out on the website straight away (well what did I expect?) but the in store sale was SO disappointing. I literally couldn't find anything I liked.

What did all you girls manage to get hold of in the sales? Did you think they were good this year or a bit of a let down?

Jumper - Primark
Leggings - Next
Boots - Primark
Necklace & Earrings - Topshop
Scrabble Ring - VIPXO

I have to apologise for the lack of posts this, well, year. I've been stressed out with uni work amongst other things, and have been really slacking on the blogging front! I've got 2 solid weeks off uni and work though so *fingers crossed* I'll be blogging a lot more. For some reason I feel completely out of the beauty loop at the minute - probably because I haven't bought any new make up for a while. I do have a few reviews etc. lined up though!

I went shopping a couple of days ago and bought a few new bits and pieces, this jumper being one of them. I'd seen a few posts on the illusive Topshop version, but as it's out of stock everywhere I thought I'd get this one. It was £14, and I have to say - the sizes for it are TINY. I had to get it in a ridiculously big size and to be honest I probably would still like it to be a bit baggier! Anyway, I really like how it goes with the brown (can you tell?!) leggings. Sorry the pictures aren't that great, I took these when it was getting dark and as I HATE using flash they're duller than I would like.

I put my hair up today as well, I was hoping to do a cutesy ribbon/bow type thing but it didn't really go to plan so I just left it like this. I think hair looks better up with this type of jumper and also I'm really down about my hair at the minute - it just doesn't seem to do what I want it to!

I hope everyone is having a fab weekend, what have you all got planned?

Happy New Year!

Saturday, 1 January 2011
Happy New Year everyone! I hope everyone had a fantastic 2010, I'm really excited for what 2011 will bring. I've not written any resolutions as yet, but I might do, I just have a problem sticking to them!

Last night I stopped in with my boyfriend, eating party food and watching the fireworks on the tv. It was my first New Years in for years but I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it - I'm not one for standing outside in the cold when the clock strikes 12! It might sound a bit boring but I really think New Years is a tad overrated, every night out I've had on New Years has been a bit of a let down!

Having said that, I had a really lovely New Years day; my sister and her fiancé came round and we had a lovely family roast dinner (or veggie roast in my case) which was delicious and a great way to bring in the new year. I wore my New Look Peter Pan leopard print collar dress which I got for Christmas and absolutely love, I've always had a thing for Peter Pan collars, even if they do make me look a bit like a little girl! I'm hoping to do a kind of Christmas present/sales shopping post soon as I've loved reading everyone's over the past few days, even if they do make me a tad jealous! Sorry I haven't blogged over Christmas, things have been manic! I hope to get back to it now it's the new year - blogging more is definitely on my list of resolutions!

I've been experimenting with false lashes a bit more recently, mainly due to the fact I managed to get my hands on the Girls Aloud Eyelure set with all the lashes in for half price (£12.50). I'm actually wearing the Nadine ones in the above pics - can you tell?I love false lashes but recently have been buying the cheap ones which is where I've been going wrong - Eyelure's are seriously THE best quality and therefore so much easier to apply. I'm not very good when it comes to applying but using these makes my life so much easier - so glad I got the set! Definitely recommend trying to scout one out if you can!

I hope everyone had a fabulous new years eve/day, and I wish you all the best for 2011! How did everyone bring in the new year?
