A firework, a dancing flame

Dress: Reverse
Shoe Boots: New Look
Jewellery: New Look

I've been getting heavily into going out lately, I've said it a million times before; I usually HATE going out and I'm much more of a 'staying in reading a book' person, but lately I've been thinking; 'you're only young once, go out and have fun!' Unfortunately, being someone who isn't a regular on the 'going out' scene means I have a really rather dire selection of going out clothes. I'm talking some pretty abysmal Primark circa 2008 dresses mixed in with oddments of Topshop and Miss Selfridge unwise sale purchases. Therefore, lately I've been on a bit of a mission to build up a collection of DECENT going out dresses. I was panicking yesterday about what to wear when I found this beauty in a shop near me, and fell in love. I have a thing for dresses with the long train bit and I thought the lace and spiky studs gave it a sexy edge. It also fits like a dream and is black (which I'm getting heavily into at the minute) so ticked all the boxes! I was very aware of the long bit all night (it did get caught on things a couple of times, not good) but other than that I loved wearing it.

Notice anything different about my hair? I decided to give my Babyliss hair extensions a go for the first time. They're synthetic, which is a must for me, but you can also style them up to a certain heat setting. I was pretty impressed with them, I felt amazing having them in even if they weighed me down a bit, it was so good having mermaid hair for once! I'll pop a proper review up of them soon, when I've tried them a few more times. So far though, I'm impressed!

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend!

Valentines Glossybox and Glossybox for Men!

Monday, 13 February 2012
I was sent this month's special Valentines Glossybox last week, so thought I would pop a little review up of it, along with the men's Glossybox I received a bit ago. Think of it as a kind of Valentines 'His and Hers' Glossybox review if you like!

I was really impressed once again by Glossybox this month. I love that with special occasions come special boxes, and this BRIGHT pink box was right up my street! I also loved the little Glossybox sweet as a cute finishing touch. The products in this month's box were a really good selection, with some really reputable brands in there. I love that Clarins made an appearance, it's a brand I've always wanted to try although I'm a little disappointed that they're anti-wrinkle products, but of course they have to cater for a lot of different people, so I've given those to my mum and I think she's really impressed with them. Considering full size they cost over £40 you can't really complain! It was nice to see the new re-branded Eyeko in there as well, their 'Skinny Eyeliner' is very fancy with a really long silver handle (that I didn't really see the point of, but apparently it's for when you sharpen it down), although I'm slightly gutted I got emerald green, I would have preferred black or the pale pink I know a few people got. I haven't tried the Murad primer yet but I'm looking forward to using it, Murad is a brand I've heard great things about so I'm hoping it'll be good! Also love the body moisturiser, I have really dry skin at the minute so it's just what I needed!

Overall I'm really impressed with this month's Glossybox, and think the Valentines theme with the little cute finishing touches made it extra special!

A while ago I was sent the Glossybox for Men, which I gave to my soon-to-be brother-in-law to try out. The box is the same concept as the original Glossybox, apart from that it caters for men and instead of being a monthly subscription, comes every three months.

I thought it would be good for my sister's fiancĂ© to try as they're getting married in the next few months, and of course appearance is everything when it comes to weddings! He tried all of the products and was impressed with all of them, although he wasn't too keen on the YSL scents, but I guess that's just personal preference. He thought the idea was really good, and would probably be perfect for a busy man who doesn't have much time to invest in new products. He also thought it was great for someone like him with a big event coming up, to try out new products and focus more on grooming, as not every man thinks too much about trying new grooming products.

Overall I think both Glossyboxes are a fantastic idea and I'm really impressed with the Valentines Glossybox. Did you receive a Glossybox this month? What did you think?

Pretty in Pink

Shirt: Motel
Skirt: Primark
Shoes: H & M
Earrings: River Island
Bracelet: Juicy Couture

Just a little outfit post for you all, I'm getting really into posting them at the minute! I was sent this beautiful Motel shirt a bit ago and I'm seriously in love with it. At first I couldn't decide if the baroque print was ugly or gorgeous, and I've decided it's most definitely the latter. I actually wore this yesterday and felt amazing in it, I was very 'pretty in pink' with matching nails and lipstick (you can never have too much pink!) I also think it goes so well with my trusty Primark faux leather skirt, this skirt is seriously so versatile, I'm so glad I bought it!

I ordered some flatforms from H & M a couple of weeks ago after seeing them on a fair few blogs, and I can't believe I haven't worn them sooner. I'm a size seven in shoes and these were certainly a squeeze (my mum said they make my feet look tiny) but I think they make my legs look really long (trust me, they're not) and I like how the platform isn't really high so I can wear them day to day. A bit gutted I can't really wear them out at the minute with the slushy remains of the snow, but hopefully they'll get a proper outing soon!

I entered Company's Casting Call competition yesterday on a whim, it would be amazing if you could 'like' one of my pictures for the chance to be in Company magazine (my favourite magazine in the world) or go and enter yourself if you like! I'm all for 'real women' modelling so it definitely gets my thumbs up. I also made a Facebook page (another shameless plug), I'm not really sure what I'm doing with it but I'll be updating posts and stuff on there as I know some people prefer to keep updated through Facebook as opposed to blog 'readers'. Would be fab if you could go 'like' that for me too :)

Okay, enough begging, I hope you're all having a fabulous week!

Me & Zena

Monday, 6 February 2012

I was recently sent this absolutely stunning 'Peace and Love' cocktail ring by Me & Zena. I've always been a huge fan of Me & Zena's jewellery, but for some bizarre reason I've never bought anything from them, merely admired from afar. I adore all things quirky and fun when it comes to jewellery and Me & Zena tick all those boxes. They do the cutest bunny rabbit rings and some fabulous funky necklaces (I'm a bit in love with the 'Dream Phone' one, so cute!) and I honestly believe jewellery can add so much to an outfit (you'll know from my previous jewellery-related posts that I'm a tad obsessed with buying it!)

The ring is so pretty, it's completely my taste and is so sparkly and unique, the pictures don't do it justice! I can see me wearing it in spring/summer with pretty floral dresses or pastel colours. It's a 'one size' ring which fits me fine, and saves me from the age-old 'Which size do I get!?' nightmare I usually find myself in. It has the words 'Me & Zena' engraved on the back and comes in a cute little purple pouch with the words 'Me & Zena - Jewellery for the Unruly' on it.

I think it's gorgeous and I can definitely see a little obsession beginning, I want everything! Do you have anything by Me & Zena? Are you a fan of quirky jewellery or do you prefer more understated pieces?

#ZOMGBloggersBash

Sunday, 5 February 2012
Last Monday I took a trip down to London for the highly anticipated #ZOMGBloggersBash, hosted by Zoe and Ree Ree. I'd been looking forward to the event for ages as I knew so many bloggers would be there, and I was really excited about seeing the lovely Zoe's exciting new project, the gorgeous Rockalily 'ZOMG' lipstick.

I met up with a few bloggers before the event for a lovely meal and then we headed to the event itself. It was a fantastic event - there was cupcake decorating, a photobooth with lots of wigs and hats to try on, and of course the chance to have a look at the gorgeous lipsticks. Like the Rockalily lippies, the event had a very retro feel to it, which I thought was fab! There was even Burlesque dancing towards the end of the night, but unfortunately I had to leave early (stupid trains!) so missed that!

There were also SO many gorgeous bloggers there, it was a bit overwhelming at times! I had such a fabulous time chatting to everyone and getting to see the faces behind the blogs I regularly read! It was also so nice to be able to catch up with the bloggers I've met in the past, and overall I had a really brilliant evening! Here are some pictures from the fab event...

I want to say a big thank you to Ree Ree and Zoe for inviting me to the event, it really was a great night. Did you go to the event? Hope you had a fab time if you did!

Sparks Fly

Dress (with belt):  Lavish Alice
Cardigan: New Look
Brogues: Primark
Necklace: Primark

Sorry for being a bit slack on the blogging front lately, I have so much to post about it's ridiculous but I've had a really busy week and need to get back into being organised! I thought I would post about this Lavish Alice dress I was sent a bit ago, it's a gorgeous bird-print creation with a really cute little collar and I love it. The print is lovely and I think it'll be great for summer or winter really. I'd heard of Lavish Alice before but I'd never really had a look at their website, but I'm seriously impressed with some of the gorgeous pieces they have! I definitely recommend checking them out if you haven't already. I'm also wearing MAC's 'Full Fuchsia' lipstick, it's such a pretty colour I really think I ought to wear it more often.

We got a little bit of snow here last night, I've been seriously freezing huddled up in front of the fire all day! I love winter but when it gets this cold I can't cope, I feel like I need to go into hibernation or something! I do love an excuse to wear faux fur coats and pretty hats though, so it's not all bad!

I went to the #ZOMGBloggersBash on Monday, so will hopefully have a post up about that soon! Was such a good night!

I hope everyone has a great weekend and keeps warm in the cold weather!
