My Current Nighttime Skincare Favourites

I've been getting really into fine-tuning my nighttime skincare routine lately, ever since actually making an effort to look after my skin past six pm. And you know what?! I've noticed such a difference. It's so tempting to just reach for the (dreaded) makeup wipes to magic away the day's makeup, but I know it won't do my skin any good. I'm also really beginning to understand the importance of moisturising my oily skin at night, as well as making sure I apply eye cream. So, I thought I'd run through the products that are helping me achieve Sleeping Beauty status!

First up, my new favourite cleanser, the REN Rosa Centifolia No. 1 Purity Cleansing Balm* is incredible. No word of a lie, I am in love with this stuff, and will be prompting repurchasing it once it runs out. I've always wanted to get on with cleansing balms (I'm looking at you Liz Earle), but we've just never clicked. Previous balms have only lead me to break out, which had put me off them completely. However, I've been having a love affair with REN skincare lately and so I put my trust in the fact that their products deliver results, and I'm so glad I did. This balm is amazing. I could literally gush about it all day long. It smells amazing, feels amazing on my skin, and I love taking the time out at night to really pamper my skin. I massage the balm in for a few minutes, adding a bit of water to lather things up and rinse off my eye makeup, and my skin is left feeling so smooth and beautiful afterwards. The fab thing about this product is it's for all skin types, and it works a treat on my oily skin. I love it so much, and taking my makeup off at night has no longer become a chore - hoorah!

Another new product I've become a big fan of has got to be the heavily gushed-over Healgel Eye*. I was sent this a little while ago and I've been using it on a nightly basis since, although I should probably use it in the morning too. It's supposed to soften fine lines, as well as brightening and depuffing the skin, and although I hopefully don't have too many fine lines just yet, I find it works really well at brightening my skin and getting rid of puffiness and dark circles. I really need to get into the habit of applying it in the morning as I can imagine the cooling sensation application gives would really help to wake me up!

Something I've always been a huge fan of, but have recently begin to realise just how much I rely on it, has got to be Origin's Super Spot Remover*. Seriously, if you suffer with acne or even occasional breakouts and you haven't tried this yet, TRY IT. Seriously, I call it my 'magic spot gel' as it works so amazingly quickly at getting rid of spots. You feel it working as soon as you apply it (yes, it stings), and in the morning the results will speak for themselves.

Another product I'm loving from Origins, their Oil-Free High Potency Night-A-Mins* is the first night cream I've really gotten on with. I've tried other night creams in the past but I've never really found one that gives me results, feels nice on my skin and doesn't break me out. I've also never found one that specifically targets oily skin - which means as soon as I heard about the oil-free version I was hooked. This moisturiser smells amazingly zingy and orangey (rather like the GinZing moisturiser), feels gorgeous on my skin and has now become a staple in my routine.

What are your current favourite nighttime skincare products? Let me know!

  6. That cleansing balm sounds great! I much prefer cleansing balms that come in tubes, in comparison to pots.
