#AlproAM 7 Day Smoothie Challenge - Part One

I was contacted by Alpro a little while ago about doing a #AlproAM '7 Day Smoothie Challenge', and having never actually had a go at making my own smoothies, I jumped at the chance to get involved. I've worked with Alpro before and being a big fan of their products (I only drink soya milk) it made perfect sense. I'm currently trying to get healthy and so making some smoothies from scratch fits in well with my 'get fit' plans. I know that a lot of the ready made smoothies out there are packed full of sugar and additives, so making your own seems like a sensible option if you're serious about being healthy.

I've currently completed four days of the challenge (today will be my fifth) and thought I would give you guys an insight into how its going. So far I've whipped up four yummy smoothies, all of which I'm really pleased with. On day one I opted for a simple strawberry smoothie, using a handful of strawberries and a dash of Alpro's Unsweetened Almond Milk. I added a bit of sugar to keep my sweet tooth impressed and had a whale of a time whipping up the ingredients in my smoothie maker. Day two saw me sticking with the pink theme and this time opting for a raspberry smoothie, complete with Alpro's Unsweetened Almond Milk again, as well as a sprinkle of sugar and some yoghurt to thicken things up. This one was really yummy if you're a big fan of raspberries, and the colour it turned out seriously packed a punch!

I'm not the biggest fan of blueberries but I decided to give whipping up a blueberry and banana concoction which ended up tasting really nice for day three of the challenge. It accompanied my yummy Frusli bar perfectly - mhmm. Finally, for day four it was all about an exotic mango smoothie, which was seriously refreshing and definitely another favourite of mine.

So far I'm really enjoying making these smoothies as part of the challenge, and once the challenge is finished I will update you with another post.

Are you a fan of making homemade smoothies? Do you use Alpro Almond Milk at all? I loooove it.

  4. This sounds like such a good thing, I feel like I want to know more about the 'challenge'. Is it like a substitute for a meal or? Currently trying to lead a better, more active healthy lifestyle so i'm trying different things to see what works for me!
