OCC Lip Tar RTW Review

Along with the rest of the makeup community, over the past year or so I've become addicted to liquid lipsticks. From the likes of Too Faced, Bourjois and NYX, everyone is jumping on the liquid lipstick bandwagon and I'm oh-so pleased about it.

OCC is a brand I'd heard a bit about but hadn't really tried until fairly recently. One of the stand-out products, it would seem, from OCC are their famous Lip Tars, the brand's take on the liquid lipstick. I was lucky enough to be sent a couple of shades of the RTW (ready-to-wear) Lip Tars and just had to share my thoughts with you all.

Available in over 30 fantastic shades, the RTW OCC Lip Tars* look like your average lip glosses at first glance, but just a swatch or a quick application shows how pigmented and luscious they really are. They apply super glossy and don't really feel drying on the lips at all, probably due to the hemp oil ingredient. The products smell really minty and fresh as they contain peppermint oil too, which is certainly a nice little pick-me-up when applying!

The shades I selected were Hush, a muted peachy nude, and Queen, a bright raspberry hue. These two shades are pretty much polar opposites but I absolutely love them both in equal measure. Hue is fast becoming my go-to nude shade, as it is so easy to wear and looks amazing with a tan. Queen is definitely more of a statement shade, perfect for a night out or just if you're looking for a bold pop of colour, for a more modern take on the classic pillarbox red lip.

One of my favourite things about the Lip Tars is that they're vegan and cruelty-free, as are all OCC's products. Overall I absolutely love them and will definitely be purchasing more. They're everything you could want from a liquid lipstick and more!
